Jake Gyllenhaal is reportedly going to star in a supernatural romantic thriller, a collaboration between M Night Shyamalan and novelist Nicholas Sparks.
The film will be a "supernatural romantic thriller" from famed director M. Night Shyamalan and "The Notebook" author Nicholas Sparks.
Plot details are currently unavailable but the project is based on an original story co-created by Shyamalan and global-bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks. Shyamalan and Sparks are independently writing a screenplay and a novel, respectively, based on the same original love story.
The film marks Shyamalan’s second time making a feature from literary material, after adapting Paul Tremblay’s horror novel "The Cabin at the End of the World" into the 2023 apocalyptic thriller "Knock at the Cabin".
Gyllenhaal was last seen in the remake of the classic action feature ‘Road House’ at Amazon MGM Studios. There are currently plans in the works for a sequel.
Shyamalan’s most recent directorial effort, Trap, grossed $71.5 million worldwide last year.
Gyllenhaal will next be seen in sister Maggie Gyllenhaal‘s The Bride!, due out on October 3.
