Stranger Things star Sadie Sink will join Tom Holland in the fourth Spider-Man film, with Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton helming the movie.
She will be a major part of the film, but it is unclear if she is playing Jean Grey, another version of Mary Jane, or Gwen Stacy. There is also the possibility she is playing Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat.
Sink is best known for portraying Max Mayfield in the Netflix sci-fi horror series Stranger Things, which served as her breakout role. She joined the cast in the show's second season.
Tom Holland, who will be reprising his role as Peter Parker, Sink is the only confirmed cast member.
Holland teased the fourth film last year during a stop on Good Morning America, saying, "The idea is crazy. It’s a little different to anything we’ve done before, but I think the fans are gonna really respond to it."
"Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton is directing the new film, taking over for Jon Watts who helmed the first three. Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna penned the screenplay.
Plot details on the fourth "Spider-Man" installment haven’t been revealed. In the third entry, 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Peter Parker accidentally breaks open the multiverse and allows for two prior Spider-Men, Tobey MaGuire and Andrew Garfield, to all appear in the same reality. This causes more than a few problems — for Peter-One and the universe at large. The film concluded with Holland’s version of the character making the difficult decision to erase his identity from the world, leaving his girlfriend MJ (Zendaya) and best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) to forget he exists.
