Jesse Plemons reportedly "has the offer" for the role of the lead villain in the new "Star Wars" film being directed by Shawn Levy at Disney and Lucasfilm.

Lucasfilm offered Jesse Plemons the role of a Star Wars villain, although the studio has not officially confirmed it. The untitled film will introduce a new set of characters, separate from the Skywalker saga. With Ryan Gosling already cast, Plemons becomes the second actor linked to the project.

Plot details for the Shawn Levy Star Wars movie are also being kept under wraps. It has been reported Levy’s movie will be unconnected to the so-called Skywalker Saga and that it’s meant to be a standalone movie.

The film also doesn’t have an official release date, but is looking like it could be the next Star Wars movie to be released following Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian & Grogu which comes out May 22, 2026.

Jesse Plemons is known for recent roles in Zero Day, Civil War, Black Mirror, and Love & Death, and for The Irishman, and he is also known for playing Todd in Breaking Bad.
