Palm Springs, CA police Monday recommended to the Riverside County district attorney that Robert Downey Jr. be prosecuted on two felony counts of possessing a controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

A spokesperson for the D.A.'s office said that prosecutors are reviewing the charges and expect to announce a decision next week.
