Millionaire Back On Top

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire returned to the top of the weekly Nielsen list last week, taking not only the No. 1 spot, but No. 2 and No. 3 (tie) as well.

Moreover, the strong ratings were achieved without the benefit of celebrity contestants or any other special format change. It was, however, helped by the fact that E.R., the usual occupant of the top position, aired a rerun last week. The hospital drama finished 15th. Millionaire's success helped make ABC the most-watched network for the week with an average 9.1 rating and a 14 share. CBS finished second with an 8.3/13, followed closely by NBC with an 8.2/13. Fox trailed with a 5.9/9.
