Spice Girls try to halt Documentary about them

Word that Britain's ITV is planning a 60-minute "explosive" documentary about the Spice Girls, featuring footage of the individual members before they became famous, has touched off a legal effort by attorneys for the pop group to prevent the film from being aired, published reports in the U.K. said today (Thursday). According to the reports, the documentary, titled Raw Spice, was ordered by ITV programming chief David Liddiment from Yorkshire TV and Dai Films, who, in turn, have reportedly acquired footage from filmmakers Zig Zag, which reportedly shot most of it five years ago at the start of the girls' careers. Today's London Daily Sun reported attorneys for the Spice Girls plan to claim that the members of the group own the rights to the footage.
