Warwick Davis Is Reprising His Original Harry Potter Role In HBO Series.

HBO has confirmed that Warwick Davis will be returning as Professor Filius Flitwick in the Harry Potter TV series. Davis first debuted as the Professor of Charms in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, appearing as the character in six of the eight movies in total.

The news was announced on Monday, September 1, as part of the Back to Hogwarts celebrations, where it was confirmed Davis will return to the Wizarding World in the role he made famous. In the films, Davis also played Griphook, a goblin who worked at Gringotts Wizarding Bank; however, that role will be portrayed by Leigh Gill in the TV series.

In addition, seven more cast members for the show have been revealed. Joining the cast alongside Davis are Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, William Nash as Gregory Goyle, Sirine Saba as Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden as Professor Cuthbert Binns, Bríd Brennan as Madam Poppy Pomfrey, and Leigh Gill as Griphook.

On the staff side, Sirine Saba joins as Professor Pomona Sprout, Richard Durden as ghostly Professor Cuthbert Binns, and Bríd Brennan as Madam Poppy Pomfrey.

This adds to the growing list of names HBO has shared over the summer. Big castings already announced include John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost as Hagrid.
