Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in horror master Zach Cregger's upcoming movie The Flood.

Jennifer Lawrence, best known for her breakout lead role in The Hunger Games franchise, seems to be a good choice for Cregger’s genre play. Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy of Warner Bros. have said, "Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most gifted and compelling actors working today, and we are thrilled to have her at the center of Zach’s bold and wholly original vision for 'The Flood.' " As of now, there are no other casting details.

Cregger, the filmmaker behind 'Barbarian' and 'Weapons', will write, produce, and direct the original film, currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on August 11, 2028.

This is seen as a significant casting coup for Cregger and a sign that his script is something special, as Lawrence is said to be very choosy with her projects.
