Vivendi Universal, moving quickly to take over the reins of Universal Pictures, announced on Tuesday that it was appointing marketing chief Marc Shmuger to the newly created post of vice chairman and operations chief Rick Finkelstein to COO. The moves came just one day after Vivendi Universal debuted as a new entity on the Paris and New York stock exchanges.
