Writer Jeanette Winterson says that Miramax has dumped her as the writer of the screenplay based on her award-winning book The Passion. In a message posted on her Web site http://www.jeanettewinterson.com/, Winterson writes: "Am I doing the script? No. They threw me off. That's showbiz, folks." Today's (Monday) edition of the British Guardian newspaper says that Miramax found Winterson's script too long and complicated."
