Former Brady Cast Member Fined For Scabbing

Barry Williams, who co-starred in The Brady Bunch has been fined $50,000 by Actors Equity for appearing in a non-Equity tour of The Sound of Music. It is believed to be the largest fine ever imposed by the union.

In an interview with today's (Wednesday) New York Post, Equity executive director Alan Eisenberg called Williams' actions "heinous." But in a separate interview with the newspaper, Williams commented, "I am not anti-union and I am certainly not trying to bust the union's goals. Equity is involved in a complex dialogue with the producers of non-union shows and I am being leveraged for that purpose, in an unfair manner."
