The classic John Cleese comedy series Fawlty Towers has been voted the best British television show in history. The series topped a list of 100 best TV programs determined by a poll of 1,600 influential members of the industry conducted by the British Film Institute. Seventy-two of the 100 programs were carried by the BBC.
