ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER's wife MARIA SHRIVER had a brush with death - when her car collided with a motorcycle in Los Angeles.

Pals say that the American TV newswoman was terror-stricken on the afternoon of 5 January (01) when she careered into a 24-year- old motorcyclist going in the same direction.

A source close to the star says, "Maria's heart nearly stopped. She was not speeding. Somehow the driver of the bike veered into her and her MERCEDES SUV knocked him to the ground." Los Angeles police sergeant CLIFTON FRAZIER says, "Maria seemed very worried about the motorcycle driver after the accident. "No charges were filed and a traffic investigator's report will follow."
