Soderbergh Oscar History

If STEVEN SODERBERGH picks up an OSCAR next month (MAR01) he'll be the first director ever to win after being double-nominated.

He's the first movie maker to be nominated twice in the same year since MICHAEL CURTIZ in 1938 for ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES and FOUR DAUGHTERS.

That year movie giant FRANK CAPRA walked away with the honours. (KL/LAT/CPT)
