BEDAZZLED star ELIZABETH HURLEY stopped a fight between her pal DENNIS LEARY and a New York waiter.

The pair were enjoying a drink together after finishing working on thriller DOUBLE WHAMMY, when Leary and the waiter squared up. A friend says, "Neither would back down. It was getting very heated and it looked like a fight was going to start."

Liz, 35, bravely moved between the two guys and broke it up, telling them both to "calm down". Adds the friend, "Dennis has a fiery temper and this guy was just plain obnoxious." (KAB/WNSMI/PDD)
