Despite ordering severe cuts in a scene showing one of the Survivor contestants killing a wild pig and then smearing blood on his face, CBS tagged Thursday night's episode with a TV14 rating, then, at the 8:30 p.m. break preceding the pig gutting, posted an on-screen notice: ""The following scene contains material that may be unsuitable for young viewers.

Viewer discretion is advised." Previous Survivor episodes had been rated TV-PG. Meanwhile CBS said that it will begin accepting applications for future Survivor series and has posted applications on its Web site.
