TITANIC actress KATE WINSLET presented ANG LEE with the award for BEST DIRECTOR at the BAFTA AWARDS in London's ODEON, LEICESTER SQUARE last night (25FEB01) - and he paid tribute to her.

Lee directed Winslet on SENSE AND SENSIBILITY when she was a relative unknown. He told her, "This really means something special to me, especially getting an award from you. This movie is Sense And Sensibility all over again but instead of verbal fights it was physical fights. "It was a wonderful wonderful experience." (PDD/WNWR&WNWCCB/KW)
