Hollywood hunk TOM CRUISE is staying with the Church of Scientology. Despite reports on both sides of the Atlantic that he has quit the Jerry Maguire (1996) star isn't deserting the church says his lawyer BERTRAM FIELDS.

Last night (19MAR01) Los Angeles-based Mr Fields said, "Mr Cruise has not left the Church of Scientology and has no intention of doing so. Nor has he told anyone that he has left or has any intention of doing so." Cruise, 38, was raised a Roman Catholic and at one time considered becoming a priest but found solace within the Church of Scientology, founded by L. RON HUBBARD. (PDD/WN)
