Kevin Spacey Donates Money To Striking Actors

OSCAR-winning actor KEVIN SPACEY has donated a massive $100,000 (£66,600) to striking Actors Union members who face make or break negotiations with advertisers this week (ends15SEP00). The actor made the gift to the SCREEN ACTORS GUILD FOUNDATION's assistance relief fund to support union members who have exhausted financial resources during the bitter strike against the ad industry. He says, "This gift is donated in the hope that others in our industry and beyond will find ways to help support the 100,000 members of the Screen Actors Guild whose health benefits and pension funds are at the heart and soul of this strike. "As we return to the bargaining table, let us not forget that 80 per cent of SAG members earn less than $5,000 (£3,330) per year. If the public were not informed of this, it would be easy to assume actors make a decent living. Find out the facts." (SVD/DV/JM)
