CATHERINE ZETA JONES has had a costly operation to tighten the skin around her eyes.

The TRAFFIC (2000) star, 31, was driven to the clinic of eye specialist Dr FRANK KAMER by her ageing movie star husband MICHAEL DOUGLAS at 7:30am on 10 April (01).

Catherine will have recovered from the operation - which involves making incisions in the upper and lower eyelid to remove fat - by the end of May (01).

A source says, "People were amazed she thought any work needed doing on her face because she is so beautiful. "Other patients don't tend to have that sort of operation done until they are in their forties and fifties." Jones's publicist has denied the story. (AW/WNTSU/PDD)
