Little League Coach Cries Foul

Chicago Little League coach Robert Muzikowski and Chicago youth leader Al Carter, who were the subjects of Daniel Coyle's nonfiction book Hardball: A Season in the Projects, are threatening to sue Paramount Pictures over the studio's upcoming film Hardball, the New York Daily News reported today (Friday).

The two claim that the movie has more than a dozen parallels with their own lives and that the Little League kids represent racist caricatures.

Attorney Thomas Harvey, who is representing the Chicago men, told the Daily News: "The kids are being portrayed as juvenile delinquents who constantly curse. They're actually decent kids who behave themselves."

Paramount told the newspaper that the film is a work of fiction "inspired by real events."
