Tucci Horror At Nazi Scene

Actor STANLEY TUCCI was left horrified and emotionally broken by the filming of a new TV movie - in which he plays HITLER's henchman ADOLF EICHMANN.

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM funnyman Tucci co-stars in CONSPIRACY with KENNETH BRANAGH and COLIN FIRTH.

The film is based on the 1942 secret meeting in Wannsee, near Berlin, which cemented plans for Hitler's extermination of the Jews. Tucci researched the project by reading the Israeli police transcripts collected in EICHMANN INTERROGATED.

He says, "You can't put it down, but sometimes you have to put it down. It was painful to read. " The crew went to Wannsee to film final scenes outside the villa where the actual meeting took place. Tucci adds, "I went through the museum. Then I went to my makeup trailer, got dressed, put on my uniform. And when I walked in my uniform through the front gates, my stomach turned over and I felt ill. It all came spiraling down into a vortex of reality. It was just truly horrifying. " (NFA/WNWCDN/RP)
