Actor JET LI is set to play a Tibetan monk in an as-yet-untitled action comedy.

The film, based on Li's concept of a monk who wins a trip to New York and brings harmony to an inner-city neighbourhood, will be written by ROBERT MARK KAMEN.

Li will produce the MIRAMAX film with STEVE CHASMAN. While a director is still to be hired, the action sequences will be handled by Hong Kong director CORY YUEN, who choreographed the fights in KISS OF THE DRAGON (2001) which starred Li. (RP/WNWCRV/NFA)
