Movie veteran JACK NICHOLSON plans to whisk LARA FLYNN BOYLE away on the journey of a lifetime - and then ask the TWIN PEAKS star to marry him.

Oscar-winner Jack, 64, went mad with jealousy when Lara, 31, fed up with a lack of commitment from the BATMAN (1989) star, embarked upon a steamy affair with American TV hunk ERIC DANE.

Nicholson won back his young love with declarations of undying love - and he has told close friends that his determined to make Lara his wife.

According to Britain's DAILY STAR newspaper, Nicholson has secretly bought a $140,000 (£100,000) diamond ring and plans to go down on bended knee when Lara joins him on a tour of Europe. He told a close friend, "I want to spend eternity with Lara. I'm just hoping I can put her in the mood to say, 'Yes'. "
