RUSSELL CROWE's OSCAR-winning performance in GLADIATOR (2000) has inspired real modern Romans to do battle.

The Scuola Gladiatori Roma has set up a two-month course for budding gladiators and stressed-out businessmen are flocking to sign up. For just $100 (£72) budding fighters get twice-weekly lessons and fighting gear. (KL/LADN/IG)
