Ewan McGregor Loses The Will To Live

EWAN MCGREGOR almost lost the will to live while making a survival show for British television. The MOULIN ROUGE (2001) actor recently filmed a programme called TRIPS MONEY CAN'T BUY for the BRITISH BROADCASTING CORPORATION (BBC).

Camera's followed the Scottish actor searching for the remains of a lost civilisation known only as the PREHISTORIC PEOPLE OF THE MOSQUITO COAST. And the adventure - which involved Ewan chopping firewood and pitching hammocks - almost proved too much for the home loving actor.

He says, "I just about lost the will to live. You've got to watch every step in the jungle - there are deadly snakes, poisonous spiders and it's very easy to get lost. Really beautiful, beautiful forest, but very hard to be in. "

But despite his doubts, Survival expert RAY MEARS, who travelled with the TRAINSPOTTING (1996) star, was impressed by his co-traveller's endurance, saying, "Ewan was great to have around. He's such a fast learner and was always entertaining company on what was a very difficult trip - I was very impressed. " (JLM/WNWCZ&WNWPNE/IG)
