Spanish actress Penélope Cruz and TOM CRUISE are delaying marriage plans - because Cruz refuses to become a Scientologist. Cruise, a devout member of the controversial faith, will not marry anybody who has not embraced his religion.

But despite Cruz's family's concerns that her daily Scientology studies were a sign she was ready to convert, the actress insists she has no immediate plans to become a Scientologist. She says, "I have a great respect for all religions, but I do not intend to join any of them at the moment. " (SVD/OZ/BRC)
