WGA Units Agree On Strike Strategy

The Writers Guild of America, whose East Coast and West Coast units divided over bargaining strategy with producers during the last round of talks two years ago, have decided to forego fast-track bargaining for a new contract and proceed with traditional negotiations next year, Daily Variety reported today (Friday).

East Coast president Herb Sargent told the trade paper that the two units, which maintain a remarkable independence are "indeed on the same page" when it comes to overall strategy.
