Hollywood hunk RUSSELL CROWE is terrified he'll be an old man when his kids grow up if he doesn't father children soon. The GLADIATOR (2000) star is one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors, having never married, despite a brief romance with MEG RYAN last year (2001).

Now 37-year-old Russell says he is ready to settle down and desperately wants kids. He explains, "I've been thinking about this for a long time. I'd like to be a father. But it's not something I can do by myself. I'm a lot more patient now than before, which is perhaps good. But I'm counting the years.
