Actress SUSAN SARANDON is determined to make America aware of the African reality of AIDS after going on a trip to Tanzania.
The DEAD MAN WALKING star went to the troubled country as a Special Representative for UNICEF, and met a number of children whose parents had died of the deadly disease. Susan visited a community theatre program, which aims to give kids the message of AIDS and safe sex through song.
The big-hearted star told the children, "It makes me particularly sad because I have children of my own. I promise to take your song back home and tell the people of America about your struggle."
