Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas are to star in a new film from the director of All About My Mother (1999).

Tarantula is a futuristic film noir by director Pedro Almodovar.
It follows the story of a plastic surgeon that takes revenge on his daughter's rapist by giving him a forced sex-change operation. It is not known whether Tarantula will be Almodovar's next film as he is also working on La Mala Educacion.

It's a semi-autobiographical story about two boys in Spain's Catholic school system in the 1960s and '70s.
