Lord Of The Rings - Greatest Soundtrack Of All Time


In a poll carried out by UK radio station, Classic FM, Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring (2001) was voted the number one movie score of all time.

The composer responsible for the soundtrack, Howard Shore, was said to be delighted with the result of the poll which surveyed more than 52,000 listeners.

The recently released fantasy film came ahead of other classics such as Schindler's List (1993) and Gladiator (1992). In second place was Star Wars (1977), composed by the well known John Williams. He is also responsible for other scores that performed well such as E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982) and Raiders of The Lost Ark (1981).
