JON FAVREAU was scared of directing PUFF DADDY in his feature film debut - because the rapper is such a tough guy.
The SWINGERS star admits the press surrounding SEAN "PUFFY" COMBS after a nightclub shooting incident on New Year's Eve (31DEC99) made him nervous about giving the rapper a job.
But Favreau says his nervousness didn't last long explaining, "I didn't know what to expect, I had read all the same press every one else had, but after sitting down and having a cup of tea with him it became clear to me that he was a professional and a business man. "With success comes a lot of good and a lot of bad. After filming in New York I could see how things got twisted out of proportion. I feel for the guy and what he's been through, but he's a real pro and just sort of rolls with it."
He adds, "Because my friend VINCE VAUGHN had done THE CELL with JENNIFER LOPEZ it made me more comfortable to work with Puffy - he's just real soft spoken and polite."
