Russell Crowe will marry his long-time girlfriend on April 7 at his country property in Australia.

Crowe's publicist Wendy Day says the Australian actor will wed Danielle Spencer in the family chapel on his property in New South Wales on April 7 - Crowe's 39th birthday.

"It's definitely April 7 on his property at Nana Glen," Ms Day said.

"It's not a Hollywood, star-studded affair … it's a family and friends affair for about 80 guests."

Crowe recently added an extension to the non-denominational chapel, which was first used for his brother Terry's wedding last year.

Crowe, who was born in New Zealand, but raised in Australia, has starred in films including L.A. Confidential (1997), Insider, The (1999) and Gladiator (2000), for which he won a best actor Oscar in 2001.
