MICHAEL Douglas has attacked the British for not supporting his wife Catherine Zeta Jones during their privacy case.
The actor, 58, said the public appeared to turn on her when the couple took on Hello! magazine for publishing photos of their wedding.
"I felt angry on behalf of my wife," he said.
Douglas blames the negative image of his 33-year-old Welsh wife on jealousy.
"To see potshots taken at her – for whatever reason – by her own country kind of amazes me," he said.
His comments were made in OK!, the magazine, which signed up the couple in an exclusive $2.5 million (£1.5 million) deal to cover their wedding and which joined them in the battle against Hello!
The Douglases subsequently lost the privacy aspect of their claim.
This week, Zeta-Jones gave birth to Carys, Welsh for "love", with Douglas at her side. They have a two-year-old son, Dylan.
