Russell Crowe and Danielle Spencer are expecting their first child in January.

Crowe told Australia's Nine Network television that his wife is 14 weeks pregnant.

He said: "I don't think we were ever really thinking in terms of a gigantic amount of kids.

"She's sort of thinking one or two, maybe three. We'll see..."

Crowe said he had been trying to moderate his acting schedule since getting married.

"I think the fact that she's pregnant is because of that, it's because I haven't really been running around doing the schedule at other people's beck and call," he said.
