STAR TREK actor PATRICK STEWART has gone where no space captain has gone before - down the aisle.

Stewart, who plays JEAN-LUC PICARD in the cult sci-fi series, tied with the knot with WENDY NEUSS yesterday (26AUG00).

The couple first met eight years ago when Wendy, 39, was a production assistant on the hit show. Although the relationship has been stable four years, Stewart could not marry until his divorce - to his ex-wife of 25 years - went through.

Co-star BRENT SPINER, who plays DATA in the show, was best man at the glittering ceremony, which took place at a lakeside mansion in Los Angeles.
