BILLY ELLIOT star JAMIE BELL has been tipped for an OSCAR for his role in the new British film - but he wants to return to his humble beginnings.
The 14-year-old actor, who plays a ballet-dancing boy from a mining town in the gritty north east of England, plans to continue his career with a local theatre group.
He says, "I have been working with drama groups in Newcastle and I'd like to be asked back." Director STEPHEN DALDRY agrees, "He's a great talent, but history does not bode well for child superstars, so I think he should go back to school. The last thing anyone wants in another DREW BARRYMORE."
