Jim Carrey could be set to reprise his most popular role in a Bruce Almighty sequel.

Sony, Universal and Spyglass are in negotiations to make a sequel, reports Variety.

Talks are reportedly at a very early stage but the plan is to bring back both Carrey and director Tom Shadyac.

Carrey is said to have left the door open for a sequel after the first film proved to be the biggest hit of his career.

It would be based on The Passion of the Ark, a script written by Bobby Florsheim and Josh Stolberg.
