Donald Sutherland has agreed to star in American Gun.

According to Production Weekly the film is a fictional look at the powerful effect of guns on three distinct American communities.

Scheduled to begin production next month in Los Angeles, the cast also features Forest Whitaker, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, and Linda Cardellini.

Donald's next film Aurora Borealis will be released later this year.
