Antonio Banderas thinks Justin Timberlake will be in for an inevitable critical mauling when his film debut comes out next year.

Teen Hollywood says Justin has already filmed his part in the forthcoming thriller Edison, which also stars Kevin Spacey and Morgan Freeman.

But Banderas thinks he will be 'crucified' by the critics no matter what.

Banderas, who met Justin at this year's Cannes, said: "He's a funny guy and a beautiful actor really."

He also thinks there is nothing wrong with singers like Justin trying to make the crossover.

He said: "I think this should be a totally open profession to anybody who wants to try. "
