Daniel 'possible for WW1 drama'

Daniel Radcliffe is reportedly being considered for the lead role in the much-delayed film of Sebastian Faulks' bestseller Birdsong.

The Harry Potter star is still not yet 15 - too young to be the World War One trench soldier who is the book's central character.

But Faulks says he is so fed up with delays in the 1994 book coming to the screen that Radcliffe could now be considered, says IMDB.

He said: "The film has been supposed to be happening for ten years now with Working Title who have the rights.

"
All the original actors are now too old - Ralph Fiennes and before him Daniel Day-Lewis.

"More recently they were talking about Orlando Bloom or Jake Gyllenhaal, but it's apparently not them either.

"
By the time it gets made, the star of Harry Potter could end up being old enough to do it - is he a good actor?"
