But What Will Mum Say

After failing to produce a profit in nearly seven years of operations, Ardent Productions, owned by Britain's Prince Edward, is about to turn out "sexy docusoaps" for commercial broadcaster Channel 5, the London Daily Express reported today (Monday).

One of the company's new series, titled X-Pats, was described by the newspaper as a show that "will focus on the hedonistic existence of young British expatriots (sic)" working as financial traders in the Far East.

The newspaper said that some of the footage already produced shows a "female trader taking off her top and a colleague who uses transvestite male prostitutes." During a trip to Hollywood last year, Prince Edward set off a furor in his homeland when he told a meeting of filmmakers that his reception "had been like a breath of fresh air" compared to his treatment at home, where, he said, "they hate anyone who succeeds."

His remarks prompted British agent Max Clifford to reply: "How would he know? Almost everything he's done so far has been a disaster."
