Charlize injured on set

Charlize Theron has been injured while filming her latest movie.

The Oscar-winner was hurt while carrying out her own stunt sequence for the film Aeon Flux, but little detail was released on her injuries.

Theron's publicist said the actress did not have to go to hospital reports BBC Online.

Filming on the futuristic action movie in Berlin is expected to start up again in several weeks to allow the 29-year-old actress time to recover.

The accident happened as Theron was filming a wire-hanging action sequence, according to the movie's publicist, Jeanmarie Carrasco.

Theron's publicist, Amanda Silverman, added: "She did sustain an injury on the set. It's a very physically demanding role."

Theron won the 2004 best actress Oscar for her portrayal of a serial killer in Monster.

In Aeon Flux, she plays a commando who is part of a rebellion against the government in a future where most of the population has been wiped out by the plague.

The story was depicted in a series of animated episodes on MTV
