Revenge Of The Sith is to reportedly open the 2005 Cannes Film Festival.

Ewan McGregor, who plays the young Obi-Wan Kenobie in George Lucas' final instalment in the Star Wars saga, is set to attend the festival to promote the film, film.guardian.co.uk reports.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith sees Kenobie's Jedi protege Anakin transform into Darth Vader.

Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger are also expected to attend Cannes in support of Ron Howard's Depression Era drama Cinderella Man, while other possible entries include Ang Lee's Brokeback Mountain, which stars starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger.
