Tom Cruise has hired a minder to look after girlfriend Katie Holmes.

The female minder, who is also a Scientology believer, follows Katie everywhere she goes while she promotes her new film Batman Begins.

Tom is a strong believer in Scientology and Katie is said to be converting to the religion reports The Sun.

However, sources say minder Jessica Rodriguez disrupts interviews and interferes with the actress's schedule.

A source said: "Tom pays Jessica to 'keep Katie on the path'.She goes everywhere. She says 'I'm Katie's best friend'. But she's only known her six weeks."

Warner Bros bosses denied any "discord".
