Martin Scorsese has revealed he plans to take a break from Hollywood to make low-budget films.
Even though his latest film, The Departed, topped the US box office, Scorsese says he is finding it harder to make films in Hollywood.
Speaking at the Rome Film Festival he said: "When there are very big budgets there is less risk that can be taken."
His next project is a "small-scale" adaptation of Japanese novel The Silence, reports the BBC.
Written by Shusaku Endo, the book tells the story of two 17th century Portuguese missionaries.
