Sienna Miller has confirmed she will play the role of Maid Marian in a film remake of Robin Hood.

The 26-year-old will star alongside Russell Crowe, who is expected to play the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Oscar-winning writer Brian Helgeland and director Sir Ridley Scott have also signed up for the project.

Speaking to the BBC's Colin Paterson, Miller said: "It's happening. I just found out. It's the most exciting news in the world."
