A new face in Hollywood is stepping into Kevin Bacon 's shoes for a remake of Footloose (2011).

Actors and directors have come aboard and been shuffled offstage almost as quickly, but now the lengthy search for a new leading man appears to have ended with a fresh face: dancer Kenny Wormald has won the role.

Paramount Pictures announced Tuesday that Kenny Wormald will take on the role Bacon originated in the 1984 original about a rebellious city youth who busts some moves in his new town, where dancing has been banned.

While he’s largely appeared as a dancer on screen in films and, more notably music videos, Footloose should be his big break.
