Douglas: I Will Beat Cancer

Michael Douglas put on a brave face as he was snapped for the first time since being diagnosed with throat cancer.

The 65-year-old star smiled as he returned home to his New York apartment to spend time with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones and their two children.

After the discovery of a tumour in his throat, Michael has reportedly been undergoing aggressive chemotherapy and radiation in a bid to beat the disease.

The veteran actor displays a positive attitude in a new US magazine interview to be published today. And it has been revealed he defiantly declares: "I'll beat this."

Michael and Catherine are also said to have spoken about how their children, Dylan, ten, and seven-year-old Carys reacted to the news.

And the star has decided not to delay a court case against ex wife Diandra Douglas, who is suing him for half the earnings from his new movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps (2010).

Michael divorced Diandra in 2000 after 23 years of marriage and she reportedly received a £30 million settlement.

Now she is claiming that she is entitled to half the cash from the part because it is a sequel to a movie he made while they were still wed.
